Remain Calm, The Cambyman, and The Saga Continues

After hearing President George W. Bush answering questions yesterday, I can't help but picture Kevin Bacon's Chip Diller at the end of "Animal House."  Despite bank failures, rising gas prices, and a crumbling real estate market, is there any reason not to trust our president implicitly?   I am going to remain calm just like President Bush recommended...

The Cambyman is coming to town and as a quasi-Clippers fan I can't be any happier.  A future second round pick?  That's all you could get for one of the top three defensive players in the league, Mark Warkentien?  What an absolute heist for the Clips.  That C+ grade has just been elevated to an A-.  Even if they do nothing else but sign a few of their own free agents, this trade makes the Clippers an 8th seed in the West.  Now, if they could just acquire David Lee and Jamal Crawford from the Knicks for Cutino Mobley, Eric Gordon, and a future lottery protected #1.   That deal would guarantee a 4th seed and home court advantage in the playoffs.  Come on Elgin and Mike, get Donnie Walsh on the line and make it happen...

Brett Favre

I just finished off the second half of that bottle of scotch watching Part II of the Favre interview and I think it's time to a call it a night...

Scotch, huh? Hilarious, Drew! Yeah, the Camby trade was crazy for me, too, when I heard it on ESPN today... It's hard to remember that it's just business. I mean, I understand wanting to free up some funds, but Camby? Seriously?

Thanks VeRonda!  I still can't get over the Camby deal.   When I first posted I thought it was Camby to the Clips for a 2nd round pick.  Actually, Denver has the right to exchange 2nd round picks with the Clippers in 2010.  So if the Clippers finish with a better record, the Nuggets won't exercise that right and they get NOTHING for Camby.   No doubt that it was strictly a business decision, but that has to be one of the worst trades in the history of the NBA.  I'm sure AI and Melo are real happy with this one.

p.s.  I stocked up on scotch as this Favre story is just in the first chapter...

Well, I'm assuming you pulled the scotch out after hearing Favre's "funny" at the ESPY awards... the saga definitely continues!
