Just Call Me Fredo, Turtleneck Sweaters & David Stern
I'm Smart and I Want Respect

On a go forward basis, please feel free to call me Drew, SDSG, or Fredo. As I'm currently working on several posts concerning quantum physics, open heart surgery, and biotechnology, the content during the next few days will likely be a little light...
Not Quite the Same

The other day, someone told me that my blog was NSFW. After finding out that meant Not Safe For Work, I have to admit that I was a bit perplexed. During the past couple of months, I don't believe anything has been posted that couldn't be heard or seen in a PG movie. In fact, two 1980's movies that were rated PG had more profanity ("Vice Versa" with Fred Savage and Judge Reinhold) and nudity (the teen coming of age classic "Sixteen Candles") than anything posted on this site. To the best of my knowledge, sandiegosportsguy.com isn't on the radar of any internet filtering software that is currently on the market. So what do you think, should I post more photos of women in turtleneck sweaters or the pictures that have been appearing on a regular basis? I'll let you decide...
I saw this yesterday and thought it was pretty funny...

I just saw that the Tigers, very much still in the playoff chase, traded Pudge to the Yankees for a middle-reliever. This is precisely the reason that the Packers are holding out for a better trade for Farve than the offers that they are currently fielding. There's always a franchise that will make a stupid move when it comes right down to it. Call it "LA Clipper Syndrome". Do the Tigers really believe that a middle reliever is the missing link to their playoff run, at the expense of a Hall of Fame catcher? Or did they just decide that if they can't win the World Series, then they'd like the Yankees to win it? Very odd behavior. If not for the Braves inexplicably trading one of the best young 1Bs in baseball to the Angels in exchange for one of the worst, this would seal the AL for the Yanks. Instead, both beneficiaries of horrid deals should duke it out in the ALCS, unless one of the other AL teams can similarly acquire talent in exchange for nothing.

Both the Pudge and Teixeira deal were very questionable. I concur completely, Hot Dog. You may be right about Favre as well. Perhaps teams are lowballing the Packers and waiting until they blink and release #4. I don't see it happening though. There is no way Green Bay will let him go to the Vikings (or Bears) for nothing.
Hey, ease off my Clips. The Camby deal was grand larceny. Things have been very bleak for the past couple decades for the Clippers, but it looks like there is a glimmer of hope. We'll see...
