Return of Shawn Kemp, Favre's Texts & Paris vs. McCain

FAVREWATCH 2008

After retiring from the NFL in early March, Brett Favre is ready to play football again.

While sitting in a Green Bay bar drinking a bottle of Schlitz earlier this afternoon, I received the following text messages from Brett:

Sick of ESPN guys - u r da man now

Y does everybody hate me? Im so misunderstood

Is Joey Galloway older than me?

More texts tomorrow.  Good nite

I'm certainly glad to have replaced Mort as #4's go to guy and hopefully will have more substantive information as the week progresses.   In about thirty minutes I'll be hopping on the red eye flight back to San Diego.  The brats and beer were great for the past couple of days, but I'm looking forward to going back to SoCal...

Coming Back?

I became the proverbial kid in a candy store when I heard the news that Shawn Kemp is planning to return to the court to play professional basketball in Italy.  Perhaps this will lead to another stint in the NBA in the near future.   If Kevin Willis can play at the age of 42, then Kemp can certainly do it now that his partying days are behind him.  One can dare to dream, right?  Check out this montage of Kemp in action back in the day...

Paris Responds to Grandpa John

This undated image made from video and provided by Funny or Die Inc. shows Paris Hilton. Paris Hilton, the blonde, doe-eyed celebrity thrust into the presidential campaign in an ad by Republican candidate John McCain, issued a tart rebuttal Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008. Hilton initially shied away from the debate over the ad and its effectiveness. But she responded Tuesday with a spoof on the comedy Web site Funny or Die. (AP Photo/Funny or Die Inc.)

It was just a matter of time before we heard from Paris.   I wonder if JMac still thinks his 'Obama is the country's biggest celebrity' ad campaign is an effective one...

If Shawn Kemp returns to basketball, will he still wear the number "40", or will his jersey number increase to "80" or "90" to reflect his current number of children?

Nice!  I believe his oldest son is entering college in Washington this year.  I'm sure at least four or five Junior Kemps will be in the NBA by 2020.  I can't wait...
