Serena Sounds Off and Leryn In Action

Serena Unplugged

Fresh off of her doubles victory in Beijing, Serena Williams talks about what she's looking for in a man.  Let's see...

Muscular - Check
Fit - Check
Nice Smile - Check
A Gentleman - Check
Faults - I'm sure I have one or two.  I'm going to check that as well.

Sounds like I'm exactly what Serena is looking for right now.  Although she didn't mention anything about guys who are married with children.   I'm sure that is just a minor obstacle though...

It's Franco Time

Leryn Franco has already captured my imagination, but I thought today was supposed to be the day that she captured the imaginations of everyone else around the world.   I know all of you are on pins and needles out there so I'll let you know as soon as I hear something...

Ayyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Well...well...well...a number of "Happy Days" and "Laverne & Shirley" cast members reunited in Milwaukee earlier today to unveil a statue of The Fonz.   It sure is nice to see Arthur, Ralph, Mrs. C, LaVerne and Shirley again after all these years.  Even though she lives in Los Angeles now, Penny Marshall certainly looks like she is still consuming plenty of beer and  brats.

Special thanks to reader John Rocker for alerting me to this news.  Here is John's e-mail:

Dear San Diego Sports Guy,

I read that the city of Milwaukee unveiled a life-sized bronze statue of The Fonz today.  He's giving his signature "two thumbs up".  If the city of New York erected a statue in honor of a hometown celebrity, with middle-finger extended instead of two thumbs up, who would it be?

Sincerely,
John Rocker

(PS:  I've taken myself out of consideration for the statue since I am not a New Yorker.)

As far as Rocker's question is concerned, I'm going to have to mull it over a little more.  My first thought was Donald Trump, but there has to be someone better than him.  If you have any thoughts, let me know...
