Weekend Wrap Up: Barack, DWTS Odds & In the Line of Fire

Barack has hops like Shawn Kemp & Jamario Moon...
The One to Beat

I was going to wait until ABC made the list official on Monday, but this e-mail came in yesterday so I've decided to post the odds a little early:
Dear San Diego Sports Guy,
I saw that Ted McGinley will be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Does this mean that Dancing is nearing its long-needed death? McGinley's arrival signaled the end for The Love Boat and Happy Days, although he did redeem himself in Married With Children.
Sincerely,
Oliver from the Brady Bunch
Oliver,
Long needed death? Surely you jest. I have a feeling DWTS is going to outlast "American Idol."
After viewing the first season back in 2005 along with 10-12 million other people, I bailed out for the next two seasons thinking that it would never last. However, my curiosity got the best of me and I tuned in for some of season four to watch Heather Mills in action. I didn't watch any of season five, but once Adam Carolla and Jason Taylor were announced for season six I became a regular. The show held my interest all season long and now it appears to only be gaining in popularity.
As far as your Ted McGinley corollary is concerned, we'll just have to see. DWTS has already survived Mark Cuban, Steve Guttenberg, Wayne Newton and Jerry Springer so I don't think McGinley is going to cause any sharks to start jumping anytime soon.
SD Sports Guy
Kim Kardashian 30:1 - Caboose may slow her down
Lance Bass 4:1 - One of the favorites for obvious reasons
Toni Braxton 5:2 - Should make it to the final four
Brooke Burke 2:1 - Simply due to all the SD Sports Guy's votes
Maurice Greene 40:1 - Last I checked sprinting speed isn't a factor
Cody Linley 35:1 - Absolutely no idea who this person is
Susan Lucci 20:1 - Should stick around for a while; No shot to win though
Misty May-Treanor 12:1 - Could surprise and be a major factor
Mark McGrath 8:1 - Another lock for the final four
Cloris Leachman 100:1 - However, Cloris is 3:1 to die on live tv dancing the tango
Jeff Ross 75:1 - Zero chance but will add comic relief
Warren Sapp 18:1 - Nimble big man won't embarrass himself
Ted McGinley 45:1- Likely to be one of the first two or three voted off

In the Line of Fire

In the line of fire this week were...
Penny Marshall
Jorge Garbajoa
Bostjan Nachbar
Carlos Arroyo
Jennaro Pargo
Early Boykins
Dan Dickau
Carnell Williams
Darrell Jackson
Eli Manning
Willis McGahee
Matt Hasselbeck
Plaxico Burress
Marvin Harrison
Jamal Lewis
Santana Moss
Kellen Winslow Jr.
and in a landslide...
The Bonehead of the Week award goes to John McCain. If JMac needs help from his staff to answer a question about how many homes he owns then I don't think there is much hope for him to prevail this November...

Hello, comrade! I'm utterly accede to that way of assessment and all of connected.
