Palin & McCain, More Brooklyn and 1-0

When that protester was heckling John McCain last night, I kept waiting for JMac to break into a "Hey young whippersnapper, get off my lawn...er..get away from my stage" rant.   But alas, it never came.  McCain deftly handled the disruption and completed his lengthy speech.  There is no doubt that McCain is an honorable man who has given a lot to the country.  Sarah Palin has certainly added a buzz to the ticket and the two will kick off their dog and pony show in Milwaukee later this morning.  Perhaps they will share a bottle of Schlitz and a bratwurst before heading on to the next city...

By the way, if you haven't done so already I strongly urge you to click on the link from yesterday afternoon's post and listen to McCain's voice mail message to Palin.  Even a few red state Righties near and dear to my heart have enjoyed it immensely...

The future Mrs. Brooklyn Decker-Roddick e-mailed this picture to me late last night to let me know she really appreciates that I'll be adding her to the SDSG's Best Sports Names list in the near future...

Sure, he won a Super Bowl, but is he for real? Quarterback Eli Manning gets to prove himself again for the New York Giants.

Eli Manning helped me move to 1-0 against the spread by scoring the lone New York Giants touchdown in their 16-7 victory over the Washington Redskins.  Am I going to be able to pick every single game correctly this season?  Absolutely not.  However, as mentioned yesterday morning, if you bet with the San Diego Sports Guy all year you're going to win 70% of the time.  There is simply no question about it.  I know there have been a lot of new visitors to the blog this week and those who become regular readers will be amply rewarded.  Look for the rest of my NFL Week 1 picks in tomorrow morning's Weekend Wrap post...
