Greed, DWTS, Hitting the Links & Week 4 NFL Picks

[ WALL STREET POSTER ]
"Wall Street" is a great movie and Gordon Gekko is one of the twenty best characters/villains of all-time.  During the past few days I've been thinking about Gekko's speech at the Teldar Paper stockholders meeting when he says, "...Greed is right.  Greed works..."

As a fervent supporter of capitalism, I think it's phenomenal that guys like Sergey Brin and Larry Page are able to become billionaires by developing a great idea and working hard.  However, there are thousands of other people who make untold millions through nefarious and underhanded schemes.  Because of these Gekkoesque individuals, tax payers are now going to have to foot the bill to the tune of $700,000,000,000.

John McCain and Barack Obama seem to be decent men, although it's pretty clear that both indirectly contributed to the financial quagmire that exists today.  Although it will likely never happen in my lifetime, the United States of America needs to have a business minded president who is not beholden to any person or special interest group.   As long as he surrounds himself with experienced, honest and honorable people like Colin Powell, billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban is just the kind of pragmatic leader who could shake things up in Washington D.C. and help clamp down on corruption.  I have no idea if Cuban wants to be president, but I'm sure there is an enterprising billionaire somewhere in the country who would welcome the challenge.

Sorry Gordo, but greed isn't right and it doesn't work...

Brookeburke

While Brooke Burke is the primary reason to watch DWTS...

Dancing With The Stars, KYM JOHNSON, WARREN SAPP

Big Warren Sapp has been a highlight as well...

Hitting the Links host Anna Rawson told me that she was only able to recommend three links, but will "try to find some more and bring 'em to ya."  On second thought, it might have been someone else who said that...

  • Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden has been making plenty of gaffes on the campaign trail, but this one from earlier in the month really stands out

  • I don't wish ill will on anybody (except maybe Marko Jaric), but Matt Millen really was an abomination as a general manager.  Here are two really good links regarding the Millen Era in Detroit:  this one is safe for work and this one has some profanity in case you're worried about Marge in the next cubicle.

Without the point spread the SDSG is now 29-18, but only slightly above .500 versus the spread at 24-22-1.   On to the Week 4 picks...
