Mr. K,

A couple days ago in a parking lot some punk stuck a gun to my chest while I was trying to get into my brand new BMW.  He ordered me to give him the keys and said I'd be dead if I resisted.  For all I know, the gun wasn't loaded, but I really feared for my life.  I gave him the keys right away, but do you think I should have put up more of a fight?

Sincerely,
Scared Shitless in Seattle

SSIS,

The closest thing to a near death experience I've ever had was watching "The English Patient" in a theater and not being able to leave because my date was enjoying it.  Otherwise, I'd have to say I've led a charmed life.  Sure, I've had to deal with addictions to drugs, sex and food at various times but I really can't complain.  I would have done exactly what you did in that situation  Yeah, it was a nice car but you have insurance and you can always get another one just like it.  You only get one life so why be a hero and take a chance?  You made the right decision and I'm glad you're OK.

Shawn

Last but not least, I'd just like to give a little love to the Milwaukee Brewers for taking a one game lead over the New York Mets in the wild card chase.  Since it has been more than a quarter century since the Brew Crew has been in the playoffs, this Milwaukee native will be cheering for them over the weekend...
