A Few Random NFL Thoughts, Jindal? & Prescott Fox

- I think it's pretty clear that Norv Turner is not a very good head coach. He is an excellent offensive coordinator, but lacks the necessary skills to lead a talented football team to a Super Bowl. I'm also now convinced that he is extremely unlucky. The Hocculi call against the Broncos has been discussed on numerous occasions, but a horrific call late yesterday afternoon almost cost San Diego another victory. With less than a minute in the game and the Chargers clinging to a seven point lead, a pass to Tony Gonzalez was broken up on the goal line. Gonzalez didn't object, began walking back to the huddle and suddenly a flag was thrown. Despite a strenuous objection from Turner, pass interference was called and the Chiefs were able to score a touchdown seconds later. The Chargers may end up winning their division with a 9-7 record, but the combination of Turner's ineptitude as a head coach and unluckiness late in games will likely prevent the team from advancing very far in the playoffs. I'm still on the Bolt Bandwagon, but one point victories over teams as bad as the Chiefs aren't very satisfying...
- Although Herm Edwards may catch a little heat for his decision to go for the two point conversion at the end of the game, I think he deserves to be praised. With a 1-7 record and playing on the road against a superior team, I found the decision to be the proper one. Too often head coaches play it safe and when someone sacks up and takes a risk, I'll always be supportive even if it doesn't work out...
- Week 10 is shaping up to be the SDSG's best week of the season. So far I'm 11-2 both with and without the point spread going into the Monday night game between Arizona and San Francisco...

Really GOP? This is your guy in 2012?

Evidently there are a lot of rabid foxes in Prescott, Arizona. The only fox I want on my arm is this one...
