The Big Cactus appears to have discovered the fountain of youth and has led team Paper Tiger to the top of the Langdon League standings.   Thanks in part to Shaq's 29 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists last night, Set Shot Bufford's team now leads a bruised and battered Sarah Palin (picture below) by 5.5 points.  Congrats to Set Shot for his early season success...






Injuries are starting to impact teams in the NBA and fantasy basketball leagues.  A couple members of team Sarah Palin, smooth and steady point guard Jose Calderon and key reserve Kirk Hinrich (out for 3 months), are currently hurting right now.  This is why depth is so important and teams need to have guys to plug into the starting lineup in order to keep pace...







The rest of today's Fantasy Focus feature will briefly cover the pick up recommendation of the week:  Marquis Daniels.  This Indiana Pacers combo guard/forward should not be available on your league's waiver wire right now.  However, if he is then you should drop everything (even your new born baby if you have one) to pick him up immediately.  Mike Dunleavy Jr.'s knee injury continues to keep him on the sidelines for an extended period of time and there is no word when he'll make it back onto the court... 

Although the Los Angeles Clippers possess the 2nd worst record in basketball, they have enough talent to win 45+ games this year (No...I'm not drinking right now, why do you ask?).  A pretty good columnist named Drew is writing about the Clippers every month over at RealGM.com.  October's article examined all the new additions to the roster and yesterday's column focused on the Good, Bad and Ugly aspects of the first eight games of the season...

And the Bonehead of the Week award goes to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and the United States Congress for planning to hand over billions of dollars to companies like American Express and General Motors.  I have no doubt in my mind that Exxon executives are standing in line to get a couple billion dollars as well...
