Jason Richardson Trade Analysis, The Milwaukee Bucks Aren't Very Good or Valuable, Florida Marlins vs. New York Yankees & When In Doubt About Which Team To Pick Just Ask Scarlett Johansson

Instead of going into a long and in depth analysis of the big Charlotte Bobcats/Phoenix Suns trade early yesterday evening, I think my original thought pretty much sums it up:  It was a heist for the Suns.

The only way this assessment can change is if my man Boris Diaw can recapture the brilliance of a couple seasons ago.  Right now BD is a shell of his former self and stealing money at $9 million a year.  With only a bloated Sean May to contend with at power forward in Charlotte, Diaw could return to his former glory.  However, it's probably more likely that he has peaked as a player and will simply go through the motions while collecting a sizable paycheck.

Out in the Valley of the Sun, Jackie Earle Haley's twin brother Steve Nash and a rejuvenated Big Cactus will soon come to appreciate the athleticism and shooting prowess of Jason Richardson.   The fact that the Bobcats also threw in Jared Dudley is a bit puzzling to say the least.  Dudley is a promising young forward with a great attitude and Charlotte could easily have included someone else in the deal.  Dudley is the kind of guy who will hang around and be a productive role player/spot starter in the league for a decade.

Bottom line is that Steve Kerr deserves props for pulling the trigger on his second major trade as a GM.  The Suns were a borderline playoff team in the West before the deal and now should be able to settle in as a 7th or 8th seed...

Shortly after new GM John Hammond named Sourpuss Scott Skiles as the head coach of the Bucks, the SDSG was less than enthusiastic about Milwaukee's chances to make the playoffs.   We're now a quarter of the way through the season and only Washington, Indiana and Charlotte are doing worse than the Bucks in the Eastern Conference.  The next time Skiles cracks a smile, it will be his first of the year.  The guy looks miserable on the bench and it can't be any fun playing for him.  Milwaukee isn't even competitive in most games and the players aside from second year guard Ramon Sessions look listless on the court.  Speaking of Sessions...why the hell isn't he playing 35 minutes a game?  Luke Ridnour is still a competent back-up, but Sessions needs to be given the keys to the car on a full-time basis.  If not, the team's market value is going to plummet even further.  Oh wait, Milwaukee is already at the bottom of the recently released Forbes.com list of NBA franchises.   Are there any Bucks fans out there who are pleased with the team's current performance and prospects for the future?  If so, I'd love to hear from you...

Instead of throwing money at free agents and trying to buy a winner like the New York Yankees, the Florida Marlins are utilizing an entirely different strategy:  developing a farm system and making shrewd trades.   The Marlins fielded a competitive team last season with a relatively minuscule payroll and the future looks bright down in Florida...

Tonight's NFL game between the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints could go either way.
Instead of flipping a coin I decided to text Scarlett Johansson to get her opinion.  After a few minutes, Scarlett texted back that she loves deep dish pizza and to go with Da Bears.   Sounds good to me...I'm going to take Chicago to win the game and cover the three point spread ...
