The Los Angeles Clippers Are Going To Be In The Playoffs, The SDSG Is An Optimistic Person & Thursday Night Football: Indianapolis vs. Jacksonville

I'm going on record with the following prediction: The Los Angeles Clippers will go at least 40-19 the rest of the way and make the playoffs. No joke. I realize their record is currently 6-17, but I firmly believe the Clippers have what it takes. Check out this Pulitzer caliber article over at RealGM.com for additional thoughts about the other NBA team in Los Angeles. It's my third article about the Clips and another Fantasy Focus column will likely be posted by this time next week...

By the way, after reading the previous post I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm a Glass Is Half Full person. It's either that or I'm delusional...one or the other. As stated in the Clippers article, over the years I've been accused by a few people of wearing rose-colored glasses. Perhaps there is a grain of truth to that, but I prefer to think of myself as confident and optimistic...

Speaking of confidence, it was another winning week in the NFL for the SDSG: 11-5 without the point spread and 9-6-1 with the spread. For the season, my overall records are now 148-75-1 (without) and 115-102-7 (with the spread). Indianapolis is playing Jacksonville on Thursday night and I'm taking Indy to win the game and cover the six point spread...

I like the Clippers' assessment. You should be on Dunleavey's speed dial with that interesting trade proposal.

I'll be giving Coach D a ring later this morning. The addition of Miller (even if he does look like a WNBA player these days) would really be beneficial to the team. Three in a row for the Clips. The Lakers better look out!

The Clippers are going 40-19 the rest of the way? I'd be willing to wager any amount of money that the Clippers have never had a stretch in team history where they won 40 of 59 games! I think this is what you call "falling in love with the team that you cover". I'm sure you want to believe that the Clippers can be a good team so that being the guy who covers the LA Clippers becomes less like the guy who covers the Oklahoma City Thunder, but let's get serious. If the Clippers play .500 ball the rest of the way, that would be a major accomplishment. Predicting that they'll be 40-19 the rest of the way and make the playoffs is guaranteeing that you are a homer with no credibility and no chance of being correct.

Bring it on, Jon! What kind of wager do you have in mind? After last night's victory, now they only have to go 39-19. I didn't say it was going to be easy...just that the Clips would find a way to do it (The Los Angeles Clippers - YES WE CAN). If they can keep the momentum going and get to 20-20 then a 26-16 record over the last 42 games is certainly feasible. The San Diego Sports Guy is The Voice Of Reason (or TVOR for short)...you know that, right?
