SDSG's Top Ten Guys You Just Can't Stop, A Big Todd Mac Sighting, Troubling Television Trend, Who Let The Dogs Out..Who...Who, Babe, Bonehead & Final Week's NFL Picks

Here are the SDSG's Top Ten NBA Players/Announcers/Journalists Who You Can't Stop But Can Only Hope To Contain...
10. Matt Barnes
9. Marquis Daniels
8. Matt "The Red Rocket" Bonner
7. Charles Barkley
6. Jeff Van Gundy
5. Jermaine O'Neal
4. Drew Decker
3. Rodney Stuckey
2. Boris Diaw
1. Nate Robinson

Former member of the aforementioned top ten list circa 2001, Todd MacCulloch, seems to have added a few pounds since a foot injury ended his career. One of the guys in my fantasy basketball league, Doc, still has several posters of Big Todd on his bedroom wall...much to the chagrin of his lovely wife.

This blog typically doesn't get a lot of comments. I REALLY ENJOY all of the comments that I do receive and often wish there were more. However, another part of me is secretly happy because some of the comments that I read on other sites are just plain scary. There are some seriously twisted people out there.
I'm bringing this up because of a very recent trend that I noticed on several cable shows during the past few days. On CNN and ESPN programs, there are now comments scrolling across the bottom of the screen. I'm not talking about "Alerts", "Breaking News" or "Headlines" like the above screen grab. I mean actual inane real time Twitter, Facebook and blog comments from people like BillyBob44 in Alabama. Hey ESPN: Is it really necessary to know that Cindy Lou in Memphis thinks the quarterback is cute? This is completely ridiculous, isn't it? I can't possibly be the only one who thinks this...right?

This brief clip of Mitt Romney is now almost a year old, but it still brings a smile to the SDSG's face every time...

Babe of the Week Natalie Gulbis is Anna Rawson's main competition on the LPGA Tour...

I'm giving the Bonehead of the Week award to myself for giving up on my man, Rodney Stuckey, about ten days too soon. Instead of keeping him on the end of my bench, I waived him and since then he has been one of the fifty best players in the NBA...

I struggled against the spread last week and now stand 121-112-7 for the year. Without the point spread, I'm a much more palatable 157-82-1 with one week to go. In honor of Mitt, the dogs appear to be out this week. Here are my picks...
Without the Spread
San Diego - YES WE CAN!!
Tampa Bay
Green Bay
Philadelphia
Minnesota
Chicago
Carolina
Atlanta
Cincinnati
Baltimore
Tennessee
Pittsburgh
NY Jets
New England
Arizona
San Francisco
With the Spread
Denver +8 A blowout would be nice but it probably won't happen
Oakland +13
Detroit +9 1/2
Dallas +1 1/2
NY Giants +6 1/2
Chicago +2 1/2
New Orleans +3
St. Louis +14 1/2
Cincinnati -3
Jacksonville +12 1/2
Tennessee -3
Pittsburgh -10 1/2
Miami +3
New England -6 1/2
Seattle +6
San Francisco -3

Dear SDSG,
What is wrong with the Clippers, and is Chris Kaman really more valuable then we all thought.
A concerned closet Clipper Fan.

I'll spell it out for you David: M-i-k-e D-u-n-l-e-a-v-y. I read this morning that Baron now wants to return to Golden State. If the Clippers haven't imploded already, it's about to occur. How many more 20 point home losses will it take? Chris Kaman is one of the five or six best centers in baskeball. That said, he should be traded for a shooter. Eric Gordon will be a solid player in the league for the next decade but at 19 he's not ready to be a starting shooting guard. I had high hopes for this Clipper team, but Dunleavy clearly hasn't adapted to the personnel on the roster. At this point it looks like the Clippers are headed to yet another lottery. I was going to tell you to come out of the closet, but you should probably just stay in there for another year.

I can't believe that back in October anyone could have predicted that the Chargers would win the AFC West with an 8-8 record. Yet you say that a friend named Nostradamous made that prediction for you? That person must be a genius!

Definitely impressive...but I could never call that person a genius. Rosey/Nosty has had his moments this season and I must give him credit.
Like most "experts", Nosty likes Indy to beat San Diego next week. Not me...I'm going with my Bolts over the Colts. Prediction to be posted before 4pm...
