The Chargers Are Playoff Bound Thanks To Marlina Moreno, Final NFL Numbers For The SDSG & The Cowboys and Patriots Are Out

Thanks to Marlina Moreno, the Chargers defeated the Denver Broncos last night and won their division with an 8-8 record. Sure, Norv Turner, Phillip Rivers, Ladainian Tomlinson, Darren Sproles and Co. also contributed, but Marlina's cheering (with close ups captured on several occasions by NBC cameras) definitely was the primary factor in the 52-21 victory.
How about the Chargers finding a way to get into the playoffs? According to an NBC graphic, no NFL team has ever been 4-8 and made it to the post-season. I never completely gave up on my Bolts, although things certainly did look very bleak the last three weeks. I've been critical of Turner in the past, but he deserves credit for guiding the team to four consecutive wins this month.
Can San Diego beat Indy on Saturday night? Why the hell not? The Chargers have 1) the home field advantage and 2) superior talent on both sides of the ball. That should be enough to get it done. New injuries to Tomlinson and Gates are a bit of a concern, but even without them the offense should put 30 points on the board. It will come down to defense and whether the players can stop Peyton Manning when it counts. I have little doubt this game will be decided on the final possession, but look for San Diego to come out on top when the final horn sounds: Chargers 33 Colts 31

Well, the regular season is over and it's time to look at the final numbers:
Without Point Spread: 169-86-1
With Point Spread: 129-119-8
Bottom line: if you gambled with the SDSG this season you won anywhere from a little bit to a shit load of money...

Sorry Patriot fans, if you're looking for any sympathy from me, you and your 11-5 record better look elsewhere. It was also thrilling to see Dallas get trounced by Philadelphia yesterday. Evidently, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie was thrilled as well...
