The SDSG Told You The Bolts Would Beat The Colts, Babe and Bonehead of the Week

Bolts 23 Colts 17

Never a doubt in my mind...never a doubt! Darren Sproles and the Bolts defeated the Colts last night just as I predicted. What a game! I've been critical of Norv Turner at various times this season, but I never stopped believing that the Chargers had the most talent in the league and should win the Super Bowl. I think August 12th was the first of many times that the SDSG predicted a Super Bowl victory for the Bolts:
"...If LT does indeed call it a career in two years, it's a good thing for all San Diego Chargers fans that the team is going to win the Super Bowl in February. This current Chargers team is absolutely loaded at every position and I'll be surprised if they don't become Super Bowl champs six months from now..."
While there is still a long way to go, this Chargers team has what it takes to go all the way. Let me hear you....YES WE CAN!!!

September 10th was the first time I posted this picture of Charger Girl Marlina Moreno and it sure seems like a good time to bring it back for an encore. Babe of the Week honors go to Marlina once again...

Bonehead of the Week honors go to everyone who said the Chargers had no chance of beating Indianapolis. I didn't see too many so called experts picking the Bolts over Manning and the Colts. Perhaps all the talking heads should be reading sandiegosportsguy.com...

Instead of talking about the Bolts today, wouldn't you rather talk about the health of Andrew Bogut

It's a close call but I'm going with the Bolts! There is still room on the bandwagon so hop on board.
Truth be told though, I am a bit concerned about the Milwaukee Bucks big man. Ankle, knee and now back issues. What's next? One thing is for sure: the Bucks won't win 35 games this season if Dan Gadzuric is their starting center.

The Bolts-Steelers game will be played with temperatures in the high teens. Snow may also be falling. That likely means that LT and Gates have no chance of playing impact roles. The kinds of injuries that they have will be negatively impacted by the cold. Can we get Tonya Harding and her pals to whack Troy Palomalu in the knee?

I'm so tickled that a former Olympic medal winner is reading my blog! If Jeff Gillooly isn't currently serving time I'm sure he would gladly help us out. Although I believe the big oaf, Shawn Eckhardt, passed away in December of 2007. May he rest in peace.
Barring a miraculous recovery, LT is probably done this season. However, I'm confident that Gates will find a way to make a significant impact in the game. I can't wait for Sunday...

The importance of 5'6"er Sproles' performance should not be underemphasized.

But he's 5'11" with the afro. Sorry, just couldn't resist. My brother Charlie is a huge "Fletch" fan and I think he must have watched that movie 250 times.
You're absolutely correct. It was simply one of the best playoff performances of all-time. Sproles has brass balls. The guy is Barry Sandersesque and probably a little more difficult to tackle in the open field once he passes the line of scrimmage. The Chargers need to lock him up in the off-season no matter what it costs.
