Did You Ever Notice That People Are Saying Meantime, I'm Humbled & Look A Lot These Days?

A couple years ago it wasn't possible to get through the day without hearing a television anchor say meantime or read the word in an article. It got to the point where the word was said so frequently that it started to be used incorrectly more often than not.
Back in November after Al Franken declared himself the winner in Minnesota, he said that he "felt humbled." Since then it seems like I hear the expression every other day for one reason or another. By the way, do you know that it has now been five months since the senate election in Minnesota and an official winner still hasn't been named? I thought the budget debacle in California was preposterous, but really Minnesota...how hard is it to count a few thousand votes?
Now...thanks to our new Commander and Chief, it is common practice to start every sentence with the word look. Don't believe me? I defy you to watch any interview show on television without hearing someone start a sentence with look at least a half dozen times. Today I even read a sports column with a sentence that started with the word.
Maybe I need to stop watching Andy's segments every week. Pretty soon all my posts are going to be about the months of the year, the different shapes of fruit, and what is in my desk drawer...

In case you fell asleep reading that last post, here is a picture of Stacey Dash to wake you up.

The one that currently get on my nerves is..."at the end of the day."
Great photo of Stacey Dash...

"At the end of the day" is another good one! "It is what it is" as well...although I have to admit that I find myself using this one at least once a week.
