Don't look now but Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks are closing in on a sixth seed in the West.  With an eighth seed, the Mavs would definitely have been swept by the Lakers.  However, a sixth seed gives Kidd and company a decent chance to beat either the Denver Nuggets or Houston Rockets.  

It would be fantastic if the Mavs can win a series or two because that would mean more shots of Kidd's girlfriend, Hope Dworaczyk, in the stands.  Eva Longoria Parker is certainly easy on the eyes, but I'll take Hope any day of the week...
