I guess it really is true that you learn something every day... 





Until yesterday, I didn't know that Angels infielder Howie Kendrick was African-American.  I had absolutely no idea.  It certainly doesn't matter in the slightest, but even though I had heard his name for a few years I never saw any pictures or highlights. 

To me, Howie always sounded like a name for a chubby/tubby kid who ate paste.  I guess I always just assumed that Kendrick was a portly white guy...  






Likewise, I had no clue that the silver fox was also born with a silver spoon in his mouth.  Again, in the broad scheme of things it doesn't matter at all, but I never knew that CNN anchor Anderson Cooper is the son of Gloria Vanderbilt...
