Fake Twitter Is Much Better Than Real Twitter

No, that isn't George Wendt holding a football.  It's one of the biggest kiss-ass blowhards on television today...Peter King.  Why am I posting a picture of Mr. King on my blog?  The answer is simple.  Pete is the latest high profile person to open a Twitter account.

In yesterday's Colin Cowherd post, I received a comment/question from Ashton Kutcher about when I'm going to start tweeting.  Well, at least that is what he called himself.  Until I know differently, I'm going to presume it was Mr. Moore...er...Ashton.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Twitter technology is great.  I realize there are several phenomenal real world uses.  It's just that telling people what you're doing and following what other people are doing aren't two of them.  For the life of me, I don't understand why people find this so fascinating.

What I do find interesting is reading tweets from fake Twitter accounts.   Here is an actual tweet from the aforementioned Mr. King:

Sitting down to bang out Monday Morning QB. Have a good night.

Now, here is an example of a faux tweet that wasn't on Mr. King's Twitter account:

Brett Favre's asshole smells like a bed of roses. It was a bit of a tight squeeze getting in, but my oversized cranium now has plenty of room.

Which tweet did you find more compelling?  Even if you didn't find the faux tweet the least bit amusing, it was still a hell of a lot more interesting, wasn't it?  When real Twitter becomes better than fake Twitter someone please let me know.  Until then, I'm going to enjoy reading tweets from the fake accounts.  If a fake Peter King account hasn't sprouted up by the end of the week I'll be shocked...

    SDSG,

Peter King's fake Twitter comment about Brett Favre was totally inappropriate. King is just a big fan, like me.

    Sincerely,

I have a few man crushes too (Boris Diaw, Derrick Rose, Monta Ellis), but King takes it to an entirely new level.   It seems to be paying off for him though.  His Favre tweet received honorable mention over at fauxtwitter.com earlier this morning.

    SDSG -

We're all waiting for your expose on your next man-crush, Ricky Rubio, who coincidently just declared for the NBA draft. Wouldn't he look great in a Bucks uniform next year?

Yes, I'd have to say Mr. Rubio would look much better in a Milwaukee Bucks uniform than Luke Ridnour.  I watched RR a bit during the Olympics and was impressed.  You're correct, he has SDSG-man crush written all over him.   It's a good idea.  I may just profile Senor Rubio in the coming weeks.

Full disclosure though...I also have a mini-man crush on current Bucks point guard Ramon Sessions.  However, there is certainly nothing wrong with having two solid young point guards on the roster.
