Who Is Going To Win The Battle Of The Boneheads?

After a bit of a hiatus I think I'm going to dust off the Bonehead of the Week award because there are a couple of very worthy candidates.

Numero uno is New Orleans Hornets head coach Byron Scott for leading his team to a fifty-eight point loss at home on Monday night.  No, that is not a typo.  The Denver Nuggets eviscerated the Hornets by 58!  How is that even possible in a playoff game?  Chris Paul, David West and the rest of the players certainly share some of the blame.  However, a head coach has to have his team ready to compete in a must-win game.

Numero dos is White House Military Office Director Louis Caldera for authorizing the photo-mission in Manhattan on Monday morning without bothering to alert Mayor Bloomberg or any media outlets.  It was later learned that the FAA and NYPD both knew about the mission but were ordered not tell anyone about it.  Understandably, thousands of New Yorkers left their offices and rushed into the streets after seeing the low flying plane being "chased" by a fighter jet.  Yeesh.

The week is still early, but these two are going to be hard to top...

    Those are two excellent nominees...

Even though Louis Caldera deserves the award...Byron Scott is probably going to get fired for that pathetic display against the Nuggets.

Scott is as good as gone if the Hornets don't come to play tonight.  If they get blown away again there will be another head coach down in the Big Easy next season.
