Brett Favre Will Dine With Brad Childress Tonight in Mississippi...Maybe

OK...one more quick post.. Reportedly, #4 will be meeting Vikings head coach Brad Childress for dinner tonight. Of course, it's Brett Favre we're talking about though. Between now and 6:00 p.m. Favre may change his mind 98 times...

Come on . . . . 12 hours after you posted that "this is going to be a Favre-free blog", you make another post about Brett Farve? I may as well click on espn.com if I want to read about the never-ending story of a man who wants to stick it to his former employer one more time (while seemingly not caring at all about the legions of adoring Farve fans in Green Bay who he'd be completely screwing in the process).
What did you think about the NHL playoff game where the league's top two players each recorded hat tricks? What would be the best parallel in other sports? In basketball, that's like Kobe and LeBron scoring 50+ points against each other in a playoff game. Or in football, having Manning and Brady throw 5 TDs against each other. It's amazing that hockey is so off-the-radar that the two best players in the league can score 3 goals apiece in the same playoff game, and all anyone can talk about is Brett Farve!

I would pay good money to see Madden "un-retire" to come back and broadcast that Vikings-Packers game in Lambeau...as the boos cascade throughout the stadium.
That said...you're absolutely right! I did vow to be Favre-free and I couldn't help myself. I just had to get one more quick post in about that Waffler. I'm not even going to call him Brett Favre anymore. He's either #4 or The Waffler.
It's so off-the-radar that I didn't even know that until reading your comment! I've tried to watch puck on tv several times, but just can't do it. Agree completely with you about the Favre stuff on ESPN. It's beyond preposterous. Next time Penquins & Caps are on I'll try to watch. Of course I'll have to find Versus on DirecTV first!

Madden is right on about the Capitals-Penguins series. Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby scoring hat-tricks the other night...Then an overtime game last night...freaking awesome!
Playoff hockey is great...but it's not on tv. I don't get the Versus channel. And the NHL charges like $80 for their playoff package. Typical. This is why hockey is where it is right now...bad leadership from top to bottom.

You're right about the leadership in the NFL. The league should go back to ESPN no matter what kind of deal is offered. As far as Madden's comment is concerned, I'm not so sure. However, the comment may get me to actually write a hockey post later today. Since I'm hardly a fan of the sport, it should be interesting!
