In a recent column, popular golf commentator and humorist David Feherty thought he would have a little fun at the expense of Nancy Pelosi:



“Despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there’s a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death.”
 


Perhaps Mr. Feherty's attempt at humor missed the mark, but he has become the latest person (in a very long line of people) forced to issue a public apology for something that was written or said.  Why did he need to apologize for expressing an opinion or making a joke?  I'm sure some people found it amusing and others did not.  So be it.   Political correctness certainly is alive and well...
