Aaron Brooks Is The Real Deal

All year I've been hyping Houston Rockets point guard Aaron Brooks.  In fact, here is what I wrote about Mr. Brooks back in this November RealGM.com article...

Houston Rockets - Rafer Alston stumbled a bit out of the gate (10.2 ppg and 4.5 apg) but seems to be coming on as of late. He’ll have to continue to produce or one my favorite young players, Aaron Brooks, is going to steal his job. Brooks is small in stature, but his game has been very impressive in limited minutes (11.6 ppg and 1.4 3’s). Reminiscent of a young Tony Parker, Brooks drives to the hole with no fear at all. Possessing a better long range jumper than TP, Brooks has a chance to really develop into an elite point guard within the next few years.

Brooks has really put himself on the map with his inspired play against the listless Lakers.  How the hell do you go down 13-1 in the first few minutes of a crucial Game 6?  It's very likely that Los Angeles will prevail back at Staples, but being pushed to seven games against a Ming-less Rocket team is inexcusable...

I'm glad that Aaron Brooks has re-emerged. His NFL career was so disappointing. Hopefully Greg Paulus can make an equally smooth transition from hoops to football.

      Good line about Brooks...

Paulus seems like he has been around forever.  He'll probably be 28 when he leaves Syracuse...

Thanks...after seeing him play a couple games early in the year I fell in love with the guy.

One of the biggest regrets of my life is that I didn't work as an intern or lowly paid office employee (Roger Goodell and Theo Epstein being two examples off the top of my head) for an NBA franchise.  I'd be one of the top three GM's in the league right now...
