Will The Padres Lose Another Game This Season?

I think the San Diego Padres have gone 8-1 since I started blasting general manager Kevin Towers and the team earlier this month.  After last night's 2-1 victory over the Cubs, the Padres have now won eight straight at home going into this afternoon's game.

Although he has collected only 25 hits in 151 at bats this season for a far from robust .170 batting average, Brian Giles was the difference last night as he drove in both Padre runs.  A few weeks back I said that I'd rather have Kim Kardashian in the outfield, but it appears as though Giles may finally be showing signs of life.

Incredibly, the team has nearly climbed back to .500 in an absolutely atrocious division.  Perhaps Kevin Towers should put me on retainer to continue critiquing the Padres for the rest of the season.  So far it has worked out quite well for the team...
