Shorts In The NBA: Why Can't There Be A Happy Medium?











A couple days ago I read a pretty good list on another blog of the five worst sports fashion trends.  However, after thinking about it for a few seconds, the shorts worn by NBA players quickly came to mind.  I might be mistaken, but it seems like the length of shorts went from ridiculously short (John Stockton & Larry Bird) to preposterously baggy (Lamar Odom) overnight.   

In the broad scheme of things, David Stern has much more important things to worry about this off season.  First on Stern's ever expanding list is the handful of teams in the league that are hemorrhaging money at a staggering rate.  Shorts length probably is no higher than 83rd, but a line needs to be drawn pretty soon or a few years from now the average player is going to look like this:
