LeBron Headed To New York...Start Spreading the News

Better start praying Cleveland residents and fans...the King could be heading to the Big Apple.  Before the Orlando series I would have said there was a 10% chance.  Now I'd say it's 60/40 that he is going to bolt...

I agree with you on this...

LeBron disappeared after game 6. Next time he shows up...he's got his Yankees hat on. Dude is going to N.Y.

The Magic series showed that LeBron's supporting cast in Cleveland is simply not good enough. I'd be curious to see a position-by-position analysis between the Cavs and who LeBron's supporting cast in NY would be. I am wondering if there is really a significant dropoff.

It will be very interesting to see what Danny Ferry does in the next three weeks leading up to the draft.  Reportedly, Ben Wallace is considering retirement (although it can be argued that Big Ben really retired three years ago) and Varejao will become an unrestricted free agent.  With Wally World's contract now expired and Big Z's expiring at the end of next season, there is clearly some money to be spent in an effort to placate the King.  The question is obviously whether or not James will even want to stay.

The Knicks certainly will be a player in the LJ Sweepstakes, but they have to make a decision very soon about eating into thier future cap space to pay David Lee $40-$50 million over five years.   I think it needs to be done. Great idea for a future post.  I'll definitely write something much more detailed comparing the Knicks/Cavs within the next few weeks .

P.S.  The Cavs collapse in the third round really supported what I've been saying all along about Mo Williams:  Good scorer, but if he's your 2nd best player and number two option then your team is going to have problems.  Mo clearly isn't ready for prime time.
