Athlete Approval Ratings: How Do Dunleavy, Vick & Orenthal Stack Up?

While reading an interesting article about the plummeting approval rating of Nancy Pelosi I started thinking about possible ratings of current and former professional sports figures.  In other words, what would the approval ratings be for guys like Mike Dunleavy, Orenthal James Simpson and Michael Vick.  Here is a list of ten people that I suspect would have ratings less than the 34% rating of Nancy Pelosi:

10)  Alex Rodriguez   28% -  Steroid usage has further sullied his reputation

9)    Kermit Washington  26%  -  A lot of people don't even know him, but Rudy Tomjanovich will never forget

8)    Tim McCarver   24%  - MLB's Mr. MOTO (Master Of The Obvious)

7)    Pacman Jones    21% - Just doesn't have a lot of redeeming qualities

6)    Bill Laimbeer       17% - Trying to clean up bad boy image by coaching in the WNBA

5)    Barry Bonds        10% -  Blackballed by MLB for two straight years; Outside San Francisco BB doesn't have many fans

4)    Mike Dunleavy     8%  - Would only be .05% from Clippers fans, but Dunleavy gets a small boost nationally

3)    Matt Millen            6%  - Almost singlehandedly set back an NFL franchise for two decades

2)    O.J. Simpson        4% - Beat the murder rap, but now in jail for armed robbery and assault

1)    Michael Vick         2%  -  The most reviled man in America.  Sure, what he did was horrible but is he worse than an alleged double murderer?
