Lakers Lucky To Win Game 2: Kobe Says Screw It, I'm Going One On Four

The Los Angeles Lakers are very fortunate to hold a 2-0 lead in the series against Orlando.  On the Lakers last possession in regulation, Kobe Bryant literally went one on four (maybe The Black Mamba's nickname should be changed to The Black Hole) and his shot was blocked by Hedo Turkoglu.  If you look at the replay, Lamar Odom, Derek Fisher and Trevor Ariza were all squared up and ready to shoot the game winner without a Magic defender within twelve to fifteen feet.

Stan Van Gundy called a great in bounds play with .6 left on the clock and Turkoglu threw a superb lob pass to Courtney Alexander, but the rookie just couldn't sink the shot.  Of course, Pau Gasol hitting both the rim & net after the shot may have helped a bit.  Magic fans will probably protest in the morning, but it's debatable that Gasol's actions caused the missed shot.

Before the series I thought the Lakers would prevail in five or six games.  The Magic blew a golden opportunity this evening to make things interesting.  Unless Orlando comes out blazing in game three, it certainly looks like Kobe & Co. will become NBA champs within the next week...
