Top Ten Funniest Women In The World
Earlier this afternoon, loyal reader JDub e-mailed me a link to an amusing blog post about the similarities between "30 Rock" and "The Muppet Show." While I found some of the comparisons a bit contrived, I do have to admit that a number of them were very humorous.
After I finished reading the post, I started to think about how there really is a dearth of funny women these days. In fact, off the top of my head, I'm hardpressed to come up with ten that can make me laugh consistently. Here is my list so far:
10) Whoopi Goldberg - The Whoopster can still bring the funny once in a while, but she certainly has lost a step
9) Paula Marshall - Thanks to faithful reader Hugh I just discovered her & am looking forward to seeing more
8) Sarah Silverman - Sporadically funny and very good in small doses
7) Lisa Lampanelli - The Queen of Mean works very blue and usually delivers the goods
6) Wanda Sykes - Good foil for Larry David on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and does decent stand up
5) Andrea Savage - The funniest woman in the world you've never heard of before (pictured above)
4) Julia Louis-Dreyfus - Still has "it" post Seinfeld
3, 2 & 1) Tina Fey - Right now nobody is even close...Fey has the golden touch
If there are any glaring omissions. please let me know...

What you smokin', SDSG? There aren't ten funny women period. I'll give you Fey and Sykes and Lampanelli, but that's it. The rest of 'em should just stay off the damn stage. Oh, and Sarah Silverman? Guy's crude language coming from a nasally Jewish broad's mouth doesn't make it comedy. Sheesh!

I smoke nothing but the best, Ronnie B! As I said...Silverman is funny in small doses.
