As we head into Father's Day weekend, I'd just like to have a little bit of whatever Harold Reynolds was drinking or smoking when he wrote this blog post  on MLB.com.  Although I'm far from a baseball stat guy, Harold's comprehension of OPS and OBP seem to be a tad underdeveloped.   Power hitters tend to have a higher OBP because they "clog the bases"?  Say what? Joe Posnanski seems to agree...

Although he is one of the best power forwards to ever play in the NBA, my man Shawn Kemp will forever be labeled as the guy with all of the illegitimate children.  Fair or not, this is and likely always will be Shawn's lot in life.  Here is a top ten list on the subject and Shawn doesn't even crack the top five.  However, a disclaimer is provided that "some rumors put these numbers much higher"... 


I don't know if Bill Austin will ever make it to the majors, but I'll certainly be rooting for him...
