And Now For A Few Thoughts About Brett Favre...

Brett Favre committed treason!! He's a traitor!!! How could the bastard play for a bitter division rival?
These are just a few of the comments from jilted and jaded die-hard former Favre fans upon hearing the news that #4 will be wearing a Minnesota Vikings jersey this season.
As I've written thousands of words about Favre on this blog over the past 1 1/4 years, I'm not really inclined to make a big deal about Brett "coming out of retirement" to play for the Vikings. I knew it was going to happen and told you so multiple times.
Incidentally, why is Jay Glazer puffing out his chest and bragging about "breaking this story" when yours truly told you exactly the same thing months ago. I think I'll just calmly hand the ball to the official after scoring a touchdown like Barry Sanders rather than strutting around like a peacock. Gloating just isn't my style. Glazer: go ahead and keep it up. Loyal readers of Shawn Kemp's Kids know the real scoop.
OK, back to Brett. Here is my brief take: As a life long Packers fan, I don't give a shit where or why Brett Favre plays professional football. If he wants to play for a division rival like the Vikings or Bears, so be it. It's his life and he can do whatever he wants.
My biggest issue with Favre is that he has been so manipulative, evasive, whiny and disingenuous about it. If he wants to play...then play. If not, then...don't play. Just spare all of us the crying like a six-year old girl act and be a man. It's that simple.
If I've left you wanting more, here is another opinion about #4...
p.s. Oh, and if you're in the mood for more NFL musings and a little Jay Bilas commentary, check out tomorrow morning's Pacman Jonesin' post...

This is a great site that you have here. I have a sports site myself where anyone can freely voice their opinion on popular sports topics. Just wanted to inform you of my site, because after looking at yours, I know you have some useful insight on some subjects.
Keep up the good work, and maybe we can do a link exchange.
Sincerely,

Appreciate the kind words, Jason. I listed your blog in my blogroll (left sidebar) and would appreciate if you would do the same for Shawn Kemp's Kids (and for pacmanjonesin.com as well if you like what you see).
