David Stern Orders Mark Cuban Not To Say LeBron's Name Or Else

Is David Stern serious?  Every team in the league wants LeBron James.  If a team didn't want King James it should be fined seven figures.

Ordering owners, general managers and coaches not to talk about the LeBron Sweepstakes between now and July 1st is absolutely ridiculous.  It's one thing to fine coaches for criticizing the atrocious officiating that takes place on a regular basis in The Association, but six figure penalties for innocuous comments about wanting to acquire the best player on the planet?  Preposterous...simply preposterous.

As a perk to the loyal readers of Shawn Kemp's Kids, here is a little something that was edited out of Michael Wilbon's recent interview with the NBA Nazi commissioner:

David Stern:  “100K fines for Cuban and Morey and a 10K penalty to Kerr.  I told those ass clowns to say no comment.  Did they think I was joking?  How can you more poorly interpret the words ‘you are allowed to say nothing?’  Did they think I was making those well-founded rules for myself?  (phone rings)  Hold on… (into phone) ‘Yeah, Joey, that’s right.  Two quick fouls on #17 by the first tv timeout or it’s your ass.  I ain’t havin’ no sweeps, you hear me?’  (back to interview)  So where was I?  Oh yeah… this is not kids play.  If I hear Cuban say 'LeBron' before July 1, it’s going to cost him a family member.  Just let him try it."
