Will Norv Turner Be Fired Or Will The Chargers Stubbornly Stick With Their Hapless Head Coach?

The San Diego Chargers dropped to 2-4 on the season earlier this afternoon and the proverbial hot seat must be about 109 degrees right now.  Will Norv Turner make it through the week? Will he last the entire season?

Unfortunately for Chargers fans the answers to those questions will undoubtedly be Yes & Yes.

General manager A.J. Smith is the most stubborn man on the planet and he'll never admit that hiring Turner was a huge mistake.  He also won't blame his head coach for the absolutely horrendous start to the season.  Turner will unfortunately be given the opportunity to right the ship after unforgivable road losses to Kansas City, Seattle, Oakland and St. Louis.

Should he be given that opportunity?  Hell no.  If I've said it once I've said it sixty times on this blog:  Norv Turner is not a competent NFL head coach.  He is an above average offensive coordinator that lacks the skills and personality to effectively lead a team.

What would I do if I owned the Chargers?  I'd back up the Brinks truck and give about $20 million to Bill Cowher for the next four years.  The chance of this happening is about 2% with Smith calling the shots but drastic times call for drastic measures.

It's time for Turner to go and the Fire Norv chants are only going to get louder as the season progresses.
