The Lingerie Football League & Playboy's Vanessa Sanchez Unplugged

February 6th is a huge day in the world of sports.  In addition to what should be an epic Super Bowl between the Packers and Steelers, the eighth annual Lingerie Bowl will also be taking place live on pay-per-view at 8 pm ET. 

Never heard of the Lingerie Football league?  Well, don't look now but the league seems to be everywhere these days...even on the frozen tundra in Green Bay.  Later this year tiny Green Bay will be latest city to get a franchise and mammoth defensive tackle Gilbert Brown is reportedly on board as the team's head coach. 

While the Chargers might be heading up the highway to LA in the near future, at least America's Finest City will always have the vivacious Vanessa Sanchez and the San Diego Seduction. In the February issue of Playboy (online and on newsstands right now) you'll be able to take a closer peek at Vanessa and a number of other LFL players inside the locker room.  

While Vanessa is certainly very easy on the eyes, she is also quite insightful.  Earlier this week I had a chance to catch up with her to ask a few questions and here is what she had to say:

What was your favorite part of the Playboy photo shoot?

My favorite part of the shoot was getting to stay as a guest at the Playboy Mansion. We were able to access all areas of the house as if it was our own (including the very famous grotto).

What surprised you most about the photo shoot?

Overall, the experience was a great one!  I was a little nervous and self-conscious at first (which I expected), but everyone at the photo shoot was professional and upbeat, so they put me at ease. The most surprising part of the shoot was the way the girls bonded.  None of us had ever met and we quickly became good friends.  I guess that happens when a group of hot young girls hang out together naked for a couple days.

Are you happy with the pictures and would you do it again?

I was thrilled when the Lingerie Football League approached me with the opportunity to appear in Playboy.  It's a very well-respected magazine and I was honored when I was given the chance to appear on its pages!  Some of the most beautiful women in the world have appeared in Playboy, so I'm thrilled to say I've been in the magazine as well. The photos are very tasteful and my experience was very professional, and I couldn't be happier with the result.  And, yes I'd definitely do it again.
 
Did you get a chance to meet Hugh Hefner?  If so, what were your impressions of Hef?
 
We hung out with Hef a couple of nights.  He usually came around during dinner time.  He was very surprised at how much we ate.  He said he had never seen girls eat so much before and that we must be football players.  Hef was very sweet and his house is amazing.

Who is your favorite San Diego Chargers player and why?

I liked Drew Brees - but he's gone.  I liked LT - but he's gone.  I liked Michael Turner - but he's gone.  I liked Osgood - but he's gone.  I liked Cromartie - but he's gone.  All my favorite Chargers are gone. :-( 

What are your thoughts about Norv Turner as a head coach?

Norv Turner seems to have a good repetoire with the players however I am not sure he is a championship coach.  I am more worried about AJ... see all the great players he has given away :-)

What is your favorite position and why (and I'm not talking about football)?

I don't think my favorite position has been invented yet cause I love them all, but I love trying out new ones.


As loyal SDSG readers know, I couldn't agree more with Vanessa about both AJ and Norv.  Perhaps some day Dean Spanos will see the light.  I suppose one can only hope.
