The Indiana Pacers are S-O-F-T. Once Chris Bosh went down, the Pacers were in a perfect position to defeat the Heat and advance to the Eastern Conference Championship.

Sure, Miami has the best two players...by far...in LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. However, Indy has the Next 7! Nobody on the Heat roster is better than Danny Granger, David West, Roy Hibbert, George Hill, Paul George, Darren Collison and Leandro Barbosa. In addition, Hibbert possesses a five inch height advantage over both of Miami's centers.

Why isn't coach Frank Vogel pounding the ball into Hibbert? Why aren't the Pacers playing tougher and challenging James and Wade on every play? How could the team possibly come out flat and play two gutless games in a row with Miami on the ropes? Bird is certainly asking these questions and went on the record after last night's blowout loss:

Bird, recently named the NBA Executive of the Year, called his team "soft" when talking with Indianapolis Star beat writer Mike Wells, who tweeted:

"Larry Bird: I can't believe my team went soft. S-O-F-T. I'm disappointed. I never thought it would happen."

When asked to elaborate more, Bird said, "that's all I have to say."

Well said Larry Legend. Very well said.

Junior Seau Will Never Be Forgotten In San Diego

The face of the San Diego Chargers for over a decade is now gone. Junior Seau was beloved in the city we call home and he will never be forgotten. Here are excerpts from two excellent columns that were published today:

Junior, who became a face not only of the Chargers but of San Diego, who
became a prominent thread in our cloth, chose to lock them inside. He
covered them with a ready smile, with graciousness, with exuberance and
hard work, with the bright side of Junior that warmed everyone he met.

Nick Canepa San Diego U-T

As ferocious as he was on the field, he played with a childlike
exuberance that carried over into the locker room and beyond. Listen to
Seau's former teammates mourn his loss, and don't believe for a moment
that anything they're saying is insincere or exaggerated for effect.
They loved the guy, and there were a lot of people who felt that way.
